Refit | from question to solution
Not even the best yachts last forever without the necessary maintenance. Temperature, vibration and maritime conditions all have their impact, even though this may not be visible from the outside. A refit project is therefore the perfect moment, to not just replace worn-out components, but also to calibrate performance according to the owner’s wishes.
First contact and advice 1
| When our sales department gets a refit request, we know exactly which (technical) questions to ask. Based on the answers we provide a preliminary advice.
Complete offer 2
| In many cases our offer includes a complete package: generator sets, exhaust gas cleaning device and wet exhaust components. Disassembly is optional for those who like to avoid a hull cut. Our commissioning engineers can also support on-board assembly for full warranty. If needed, we use our service network to commission our generator sets, with remote support from our engineering team at headquarters.
From the word ‘go’ 3
| After we get the ‘go’, a project manager is assigned to the project and we start our order process. Our engineers will work out an order drawing, which will be reviewed by the client.
Custom-made design 4
| After approval, our engineers fully draw the offered equipment in 3D SolidWorks. This enables a fast and smooth purchase and assembly process.
Electrical engineering 5
| Each generator set has an engine controller with various sensors, depending on classification society and/or customer requirements for which a dedicated electrical drawing will be made.
Production 6
| Our mechanical and electrical assembly team is highly experienced, they know each project is unique and they are keen to make adaptions, find solutions and deliver quality.
Testing 7
| In our in-house facility, we perform a factory test on the generator. If necessary, with different loads and with class witnessed load steps. A stamp is placed on the test report for each class. In any case, the shipyard and owner teams are welcome to witness the test run.
Disassembly and shipment 8| The engineers who built the generators know perfectly how to disassemble and package the generator o accomodate easy access to the engine room. Our project leaders are very experienced in worldwide shipments. We outsource the shipments to our delicate partners to ensure fast and safe transport.
Commissioning and service 9
| Our commissioning team travels worldwide and has years of expertise and knowledge of both engine and exhaust aftertreatment. In exceptional cases, we provide remote commissioning as well. Our service engineers know even the smallest details of our generator sets and are best in class to provide the best service.
Client refit case:
M.Y. Lady Duvera
Lady Duvera is a motor yacht with a length of 43.6m. The superyacht has a beam of 8.8m, a draft of 2.9m and a volume of 490 GT. After a call from the owner representative, we opted for Zenoro generators with very silent, low vibration.
Client refit case:
Charter yacht Big Fish
With limited space, the yacht had previously Kilo-Pak generator sets installed with a wet exhaust muffler inside the sound enclosure. Due to Soot reduction requirements there was a challenge how to organize this setup within the space available.
